This layer shows United States Forest Service Owned land in North Carolina. While the USFS manages all National Forest land, the Forest Service does not necessarily own all the land. There can be privately owned inholdings, state and tribal land ownership within the boundaries of a national forest. This layer was created from the "Surface Ownership Parcels" layer owned by the USFS. The data was filtered to only US Forest Service Owned Land within North Carolina using the "Select by Attributes" and "Pairwise Intersect" tools.
