The pump pressure main layer is a polyline feature class that contains information about the locations and attributes of more than 7130 miles of water lines of the City of Houston's water distribution system. The pump pressure main layer includes Distribution and Transmission Lines, Well Collection Line, and Take Off.

The GIS Services Group of Houston Water, Houston Public Works currently stores and maintains the dataset in a Relational Database Management System.

The information for the pump pressure main layer is digitized from Plan and Profile Engineering Drawings obtained from Block Map, As-Built, Field Verified with Control Number, Taps and Meters, Metro, Field Verified Fire Department, Field Verified Fire Line, Construction Drawing (Layer), Fire Department, and Capital Improvement Project.
