Description: For all deaths with dates of death prior to July 1, 2023, in order to be determined as COVID-associated, all deaths (regardless of age) must meet criteria 1 and 2 below and pediatric deaths (The cumulative COVID-19 mortality rate can be used to measure the most severe impacts of COVID-19 in a community. There have been documented inequities in COVID-19 mortality rates by demographic and geographic factors. Death determination was driven by review of multiple sources, where available, including death report forms from providers, death certificates, coroner reports, medical record reviews, case interviews, and outbreak records.
