Single-year data are only available for Los Angeles County overall, Service Planning Areas, Supervisorial Districts, City of Los Angeles overall, and City of Los Angeles Council Districts.Coronary heart disease is a type of heart disease in which the arteries of the heart cannot deliver enough oxygen-rich blood to the heart muscles. Over time, this can weaken the heart muscle and may lead to heart attack or heart failure. It is the most common type of heart disease in the US and has been the leading cause of death in Los Angeles County for the last two decades. Poor diet, sedentary lifestyle, tobacco exposure, and chronic stress are all important risk factors for coronary heart disease.
