Description: Early entry into prenatal care is defined as entering/receiving prenatal care during the first three month (first trimester) of pregnancy. This measure excludes pregnant persons whose pregnancies did not result in live births.

Early initiation of prenatal care is an important factor in preventing poor maternal and newborn outcomes.
