A PWS is a water system that has 15 or more service connections (hook-ups) or serves 25 or more people. Regardless of ownership, PWS must comply with all requirements of the Safe Drinking Water Act. An exceedance is when the monitoring level(s) for a PWS exceed the Federal Drinking Water Quality Standards for that contaminant. When a water system has an exceedance, the system will issue a public notice |
