Description: This GIS dataset contains points which depict air quality monitors within EPA's Air Quality System (AQS) monitoring network that are maintained by ADEQ. The dataset includes both active and inactive monitors, but can easily be filtered using the Monitor Status field. This dataset is updated weekly to reflect the most recent changes in the monitoring network. ADEQ collects the data, performs quality assurance and then submit it to the EPA Air Quality System (AQS). The GIS dataset includes monitor information and links to download historic air quality data at each monitor.The following parameters are collected by monitors in this dataset with each parameter represented an individual point. There may be multiple points at a location if more than one monitor is located on a given site.CO (carbon monoxide)Lead, Lead-TSP(LC) (lead, total suspended particulates, local conditions)Lead-PM10(LC) (lead, particulate matter up to 10um in size, local conditions)NO2 (nitrogen dioxide), Ozone, PM10 (particulate matter up to 10um in size)PM2.5 (particulate matter up to 2.5um in size)SO2 (sulfur dioxide)ADEQ Processing:An ETL tool developed using FME software is used to merge the 20 layers in the EPA's map service into a single dataset. The data are filtered for just those monitors where the reporting agency is ADEQ. The data are then pushed through a Datum transformation and projected from WGS84 to NAD83 UTM Zone 12N (WKID: 26912). The Symbol Class field is added to the dataset to allow filtering and custom symbology based on Parameter Name. The ETL Date field indicates the last time the ETL tool found a change for that particular feature in the EPA's map service. The ETL tool is run weekly.
