Service Description: The Arizona Waterbody Identifier (WBID) dataset precisely maps the state's rivers and streams as polylines, leveraging the National Hydrography Dataset (NHD) medium resolution (1:100,000 scale) and supplemental EPA data. This comprehensive dataset, featuring unique identifiers and centerline representations, serves as a foundational component of NHDPlus Version 2, supporting diverse applications like mapping and hydrologic modeling. Critically, the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality (ADEQ) utilizes this data to accurately define and assess specific waterway segments, ensuring effective environmental management across the state. Dataset is owned by the Surface Water Quality Improvement Section and is updated irregularly by the GIS team. This is a custom statewide WBID dataset developed by ADEQ that uses NHD and EPA data as the base.
