Service Description: The purpose of this dataset is to represent all Voluntary Remediation Program (VRP) sites whether active, closed, withdrawn, terminated, including sites that may have been closed with a Declaration of Environmental Use Restriction (DEUR). The VRP facilities voluntarily remediation of contaminated sites often returning them to economic viability. The data is owned and updated by the Remedial Projects Section-VRP. Updates occur irregularly, whenever a site is accepted, closed, terminated or withdrawn. Intended audience includes internal staff as well as the public. The public view of this dataset provides a subset of attribute fields that are important to understanding the type of site, contaminant at the site and status of the site.

Description: This dataset represents sites that have been accepted into the Voluntary Remediation Program (VRP) even if they were later withdrawn or terminated. Sites that have been remediated and closed out of the VRP are also included in this dataset.
The Remedial Projects Section updates this GIS dataset as changes to site status occur. Modifications made by VRP staff are reflected in internal and public-facing maps and applications through anautomated process that is run weekly.
In addition to the location of VRP sites, this dataset also includes details about the type of site, site status, affected media and closure date if applicable.
Data Quality Note: The quality of data depends on what is entered on the Volunteers Application, No Further Action or DEUR Questionnaire.
