Service Description: - Persistent Poverty: 2023 persistent poverty calculations for 2000, 2010, and 2020, using 2020 census tracts. This map displays "persistent poverty" census tracts used to determine DCTA eligibility. A census tract is designated as a region of persistent poverty if the overall poverty rate in 2000, 2010, and 2020 was greater than 0.1995. - 2000 Tract: 2000 tract-level population and poverty estimates from the 2000 decennial census. a. GEOID: 2000 census ID b. Total Population: total_popE (P087001) c. Total Poverty: total_povE (P087002) - 2010 Tract: 2010 tract-level population and poverty estimates from the 2010 5-year ACS. a. GEOID: 2010 census ID b. Total Population: total_popE (B01003_001) c. Total Poverty: total_povE (B14006_002) - 2020 Tract: 2020 tract-level population and poverty estimates from the 2020 5-year ACS. a. GEOID: 2020 census ID b. Total Population: total_popE (B01003_001) c. Total Poverty: total_povE (B14006_002) 2000 and 2010 poverty estimates were transformed to 2020 census tract geographies using the R package tidycensus () to allow comparison over time within consistent census tract geographies.
