The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), working with Applied Research Associates, Inc. (ARA), has developed a rapid response estimate of the surface-level windfield for Hurricane Laura in support of a Mission Assignment from FEMA. This version was produced on August 27, 2020 and incorporates storm track and central pressure data from the National Hurricane Center through Forecast Advisory 31 and observations through 1600 UTC on 08/27/2020.
