Service Description: Community Reception Centers are pre-designated facilities that provide evacuees with registration, public radiological monitoring and detection, reunification services, and information for congregate care centers. Not every community reception center will be used at the same time and local authorities will utilize the Emergency Alert System to provide instructions to evacuees.
Locations in this layer were mapped using information from Public Information/Emergency Planning mailers along with state and local plans and Evacuation Time Estimates from NRC's ADAMS system. Addresses were verified using HIFLD Open's Public Schools, Private Schools, College/Universities, All Places of Worship, and Convention Centers/Fairgrounds databases. Where possible, points were placed on the reception center facility. Please note that Illinois data is not available at the request of Illinois Emergency Management Agency.
