Description: This feature class represents evacuation routes for Washington State coastal communities. Tsunami evacuation routes were developed to guide coastal residents and visitors to safer locations when car evacuation is possible; that is, for a tsunami from a distant earthquake when there are several hours' warning. Evacuation signs have been placed along the main roads to direct motorists to higher ground. In some areas, there may be more than one way to reach safer areas. These routes are marked with multiple signs showing additional options for evacuation. You will need to know the evacuation routes for your area. This feature class is part of a geodatabase that contains tsunami evacuation information data for Washington State. Other feature classes are evacuation_assembly_area, evacuation_brochure_bndry, tsunami_hazard_zone, and local_landmark.
