These polygons represent the land area of the 45 incorporated municipalities in Westchester County, where: the eight towns that contain villages include their village areas, in addition to areas that are outside the villages; and the two villages that are partially in two towns are shown whole. The three coterminous Town/Villages are represented once. The Towns of Pelham and Rye, which have no area outside of their villages, are represented here for the first time. Since some polygons overlap, they may not all be visible at once on a map; the boundary of each municipality can be viewed by selecting its record from the table. This data was created from the boundaries in the County's 'wcmun' file, which was last updated by the Westchester Department of Planning in 2009, using digital parcel data and photogrammetric shorelines. Offshore areas (in the Hudson River and Long Island Sound) are not included.
