Description: This map shows the predominant combination of school and work of youth (16-19 year-olds): school only, work only, both, school and looking for work, looking only (unemployed), or neither (disconnected). This is shown by 2020 census tract boundaries.
Estimates here for 'disconnected youth' differ from estimates of 'idle youth' on Census Bureau's website because idle youth includes those unemployed (actively looking for work).
This map is updated annually to contain the most currently released American Community Survey (ACS) 5-year data, and contains estimates and margins of error. There are additional calculated attributes related to this topic, which can be mapped or used within analysis. To see the full list of attributes available in this service, go to the "Data" tab, and choose "Fields" at the top right.
This map uses services from these hosted feature layers containing the most recent American Community Survey data.
