Description: The Insect and Disease (IDS) dataset is a compilation of forest insect, disease and abiotic damage mapped by aerial detection surveys on forested areas in the United States. It is a Forest Health Protection (FHP) dataset. This feature class (Damage Areas Flat Decode) represents the delineated areas of damage observed during surveys. All the features in this dataset have a one-to-one relationship with their attributes (flat). All of the original lookup tables have been applied and added to the attribute table (decoded). ***AERIAL DETECTION SURVEY DATA DISCLAIMER: Forest Health Protection (FHP) and its partners strive to maintain an accurate Aerial Detection Survey (ADS) Dataset, but due to the conditions under which the data are collected, FHP and its partners shall not be held responsible for missing or inaccurate data. ADS are not intended to replace more specific information. An accuracy assessment has not been done for this dataset; however, ground checks are completed in accordance with local and national guidelines http://www.fs.fed.us/foresthealth/aviation/qualityassurance.shtml.
