This dataset depicts the 1:24,000 scale land ownership status and areas of responsibility for the State of Utah. Revisions are posted weekly on the AGRC SGID.
Maintenance of this data layer is performed by a cooperative federal and state effort. The Utah School and Institutional Trust Lands Administration (SITLA) revises this data regularly to reflect changes in State Trust Lands, other State Land and Private Land as needed. The BLM revises this data regularly to reflect changes in Federal Land as needed. Other information is edited and updated as needed but not on a regular schedule.
The statewide roads dataset is maintained by AGRC in partnership with local governments, the Utah 911 Committee, and UDOT. This dataset is updated monthly with Davis, Salt Lake, Utah, Washington and Weber represented every month, along with additional counties based on an annual update schedule. AGRC obtains the data from the authoritative data source (typically county agencies), projects the data and attributes into the current data model, spatially assigns polygon-based fields based on the appropriate SGID boundary, and then standardizes the attribute values to ensure statewide consistency. AGRC also generates a UNIQUE_ID field based on the segment's location in the US National Grid, with the street name then tacked on. The UNIQUE_ID field is static and is AGRC's current, ad hoc solution to a persistent global id. PLSSSections_GCDB is the second level of a hierarchical break down of the Public Land Survey System Rectangular surveys. This data is Version 2.0 2015 of the Utah GCDB. This data set represents the GIS Version of the Public Land Survey System. Updates are expected annually as horizontal control positions from published sources and global positioning system (GPS) observations are added. The primary source for the data is cadastral survey records housed by the BLM supplemented with local records and geographic control coordinates from states, counties as well as other federal agencies such as the USGS and USFS. This data was orginally published on 5/1/2015.
The PLSS First Division is commonly the section. This is the first set of divisions for a PLSS Township, there are 36 Sections to the usual Township, measuring approximently 1 mile square. (640 Acres)
