Description: This data set consists active mining claims generated from mining claim records extracted from BLM’s LR2000 database. A Python script was used to convert the LR2000 legal land descriptions to geospatial features. The resulting file has been projected to NAD83/UTM13N and dissolved on case-level attributes. It was then intersected with the GUSG Decision area to help determine number of mining claims within the GUSG Decision Area
Description: This dataset is a combination of data from multiple field offices. It's purpose is to present ACEC's for Colorado and Utah. Contributing data for ACEC's and the NLCS are listed below. Any additions to the original SDE version originated in the the data listed in the supplemental information section.(The following is part of the original dataset)Once a polygon feature leaves the Pre-designated phase (transitions from Considered to Designated), that polygon will be removed from the ACEC Pre-designated feature class and be placed in the ACEC Designated feature class. This data set consist of digital data describing (ACEC) Areas of Critical and Environmental Concern for Public Lands in the State of Colorado. ACECs are designated by decisions made during BLM Resource Management Planning. Existing ACECs have a Resouce value tied to them. An example of these resources would be: Threatened and Endangered Plants. Other areas of concern have also been captured within this theme. When the users opens up the attribute table for this theme the user will notice ACEC follows most of names for each area. Some BLM field offices also included RNAs and ONAs with in their layer. ONAs are... Outstanding Natural Areas and RNAs are... Research Natural Area The data set was compiled from the most current data collected from the BLM Colorado Field Offices. In some cases data boundaries were snapped to BLMs Geographic Coordinate Data Base (GCDB). The GCDB is a statewide survey grid that BLM bases land boundaries on. Also in some cases within the ACECs outer boundary land holdings other than BLM have been cut out to show these Land Patterns, In other cases it has not. It is suggeted that the user of this data also download BLMs most current Land Ownership Layer to compare and contrast land holdings within each ACEC.
Description: This is a combined dataset of areas Not Designated. These data were provided by BLM Field Offices in the effort to provide a complete representation of areas not designated for the area concerning GUSG. This dataset was also used to provide acreage summaries and has population, field office, NCA, and Land Status information included.
Description: This dataset was created by digitizing ROW's from case files and imagery. Some older case files did not contain good maps within them so the ROW's may be inaccurate. The original dataset contained null or missing data in the width field, used to designate buffer zone width around Right of Way's. In order to populate the fields with null or missing data, the Select by Attribute function was used to select the various types of Right of Way's located in the Casetype_txt field. Once selected, Field Calculator was used to populate fields using predetermined widths for each Right of Way type, where: Null (0 ft), Comm Site (30 ft), Ditches / Canals Prior to FPLMA (50 ft), Fed Aid Highway / Material Site (150 ft), FS ROW & Easement (30 ft), Irrigation or Water FAC, Irrigation, D/C (30 ft), O&G Pipeline / Facility or Salt Water Disposal (120 ft), Other & Misc. (30 ft), Power Trans / Power Facility (25 ft), Railroad or Railroad & Stations (200 ft), Roads (35 ft), Telephone & Telegraph (20 ft), and Water Facility or Water Plants or Water Fac, Irrigation, D/C (60 ft).
Description: The dataset contains BLM Colorado and Utah Concentrated and Extensive Recreation Management Areas that were collected from the various BLM Field Offices. Contributing Data is listed in the supplemental section.
Description: This data set is a result of compiling differing source materials of various vintages.Source material examples used to create and maintain dataset include: BLM 100k Subsurface Maps, Oil and Gas Plats, Coal Plats, Public Land Survey GIS Data (cadnsdi v.2.0), Field Office GIS Data, Compiled 24k USGS Maps, and Land Records.

Description: The GUSG EIS Decision area was created by combining UFSWS final critical habitat with Colorado Parks and Wildlife habitat in some areas and lek buffers. All of these data sets combine to give us the GUSG Occupied habitat, GUSG Unoccupied habitat, and Non-Habitat areas.
Description: Imagery backdrops were used to identify all surface disturbance other than roads. Roads were identified using a North American detailed streets layer from ESRI. The Road lines were buffered to create polygons: Highways = 40ft = 2(12ft lane) + 2(8ft shoulder), All other roads = 24ft = 2(8ft lane) + 2(4ft shoulder). Each polygon is assigned with disruption and/or disturbance to the Gunnison Sage Grouse habitat.
Description: This dataset is a combination of two datasets in order to illustrate Wilderness study areas for both Colorado and Utah. This dataset is to provide data for Gunnision Sage Grouse EIS. Additional infomation from Utah that has been added to the original dataset is listed in the supplemental section. This data set consists of digital data describing BLM National Landscape Conservation System in the State of Colorado and Utah. This data identifies the geographic locations and boundaries of the NLCS lands throughout Colorado and Utah. These data represent the polygon features that show the boundaries for the NLCS Wilderness Study Areas.
Description: This dataset is a combination of three datasets in order to illustrate Wilderness areas in Colorado and Utah. This dataset was created for Gunnison Sage Grouse EIS. Additional data that has been included in this dataset is listed in the supplemental section. This data set consists of digital data describing BLM National Landscape Conservation System in the State of Colorado and Utah. Description: Vintage: March 2015Oil and Gas lease layer generated from legal land descriptions entered in LR2000 for oil and gas leases. This layer contains leases with the disposition of Authorized and Pending. The script use to generate this data can not generate leases with non standard legal descriptions such as exclusion, parts of tracts and lots etc..
Description: This dataset is a combination of several OHV datasets from several BLM field offices, in order to represent OHV use as a whole for the area in and surrounded Gunnison Sage Grouse habitat. The contributing datasets are listed in the supplemental section by field office.
Description: This data contains information on constructed assets within the Facility Asset Management System (FAMS). The following asset classes are present from the FAMS system: administrative sites, buildings and recreation sites.
Description: This dataset is a combination of several datasets gathered from BLM field offices. Each field office contributed data showing utility corridors for their specific field office planning area. The individual datasets were originally created for the purpose of displaying decisions made in each offices Resource Management Plan (RMP). The result of this dataset is a greater display of utility corridors for the area in, and surrounding Gunnison Sage Grouse habitat. The original datasets used to create this master dataset can be found in the supplemental section below. For corridors listed in the RMPs that were not included in the available spatial corridor layers, the names, widths, and descriptions were used to create these corridors in the GIS for analysis purposes. The first corridors that were created were corridors purposed in the Gunnison Gorge RMP. Using the map in Figure 2-2 and Table 2-3 from the RMP, the utility corridors for Gunnison Gorge were created with the exeption of corridor 1 from Figure 2-2. For other corridors that were displayed as line features, the Righ of Way (ROW) width was applied as a buffer. This was the case for TriState Generation and Transmission (3500'), and Trans Colorado Pipeline Corridor (3500') which were both Energy Policy Act 368 corridors. Western Utillity Group Corridors (WAPA) and TriState Corridors that were not part of the Energy Policy Act 368 were buffered to the width of the ROW's that each was based on. For WAPA the ROW is 125' and for TriState the ROW is 100'.
Description: This is an updated BLM trasportation dataset for the Gunnison Sage Grouse Project area. County road datasets were used to update records in the original BLM trasportation layer to help identify and categorize them as Interstate Highways, Primary or Secondary Highways, or County roads. Process used to join county feature attributes to BLM transportaion features: 1) BLM features buffered 2) Tabulate intersection tool 3) Max Length of county line features within each buffer was calculated 4) Max length features used to identify which features attributes would be joined with BLM features.Grand Junction road data was updated to reflect the recently signed RMP. Datasets containing county road data that was used in this process can be found in the supplemental section below.
Description: The Solid Non-energy Leasable (SNEL) minerals data set was generated November 2014 using records extracted from BLM’s LR2000 case record database. The record selection criteria specified authorized and pending prospecting permits, preference right leases, exploration leases, competitive leases, noncompetitive leases and use permits for the following commodities:(1) Phosphate (pho)(2) Sodium (sod)(3) Potassium (pot)(4) Sulfur (sul)(5) Gilsonite (gil)(6) Hardrock minerals (hdr)Some of the listed commodities are not represented in the shapefile because there is currently no activity in Colorado or Utah. The three-character category codes shown above in parentheses can be used to easily select subsets of records based on the commodity.
Description: This data set consists of digital data describing BLM Colorado and Utah Special Recreation Management Areas that were collected from the various BLM Field Offices. This data set does not include Recreation Management Zones. Contributing SRMA data is listed in the supplemental section.
