Airborne electromagnetic (AEM) survey data is modeled to produce subsurface maps of the resistivity and coarse fraction interpretations along survey flightlines. AEM data, well lithology and geophysical logs, as well as groundwater level and water quality data were processed and used to generate resistivity models. High-quality well lithologic data were combined with the resistivity models via an inversion algorithm to produce an interpretation of the coarse fraction along the AEM flight line.
The AEM geophysical data have been collected as a part of DWR’s Statewide AEM Survey Project. All project datasets are published on the California Natural Resource Agency Open Data Portal by Survey Area on a rolling-basis. Details on data processing and the inversion algorithm are available in Data Reports for each survey area.
