Description: SCDNR OFM updates boundaries annually to include new and updated permit areas. Permit areas include: State Shellfish Grounds, Culture Permit, Recreational Permit, Mariculture Permit, and King's Grant Permit (these areas are managed privately) areas. Culture permit areas are leased to commercial individuals and companies for an annual fee, determined by the acreage of intertidal oyster present in each area. Special use permits are also issued on a case-by-case basis.
