Description: This layer represents a complete inventory of pathways and streets for the University of Richmond campus. This data layer was created by students at the University of Richmond in the fall of 2008 and spring of 2009 Introduction to Geographic Information Systems classes. In order to create the campus pathways, the classes used heads-up digitizing based on a 2007 digital orthophoto from the Virginia Base Mapping Program and an AutoCAD drawing of campus from the University of Richmond Facilities. The class also used a shapefile of street centerlines from the City of Richmond GIS and heads up digitized the missing streets of campus. Attributes of pathways including pathway type, surface type, condition, width, slope, and length provide information to aid in determining whether or not these elements are handicap accessible.
Description: Data of road polygons on the University of Richmond campus and select surrounding roads. Features were originally interpreted from the 2013 Virginia Base Mapping Program's orthophotography (6" tiles) at a scale of 1:200 in the Road_Edge dataset and converted to polgyons. Each polygon in the dataset represents one distinct named road. To be used in analysis of spatial projects on campus and for cartography.
Description: Parking Lot areas downloaded from the City of Richmond and/or the County of Henrico. This data has been clipped (using "Campus Clip" layer) to include only University of Richmond's campus area but no major changes to the data have been made.
Description: Hydrography. Lines representing streams, shorelines, and other hydrographic features downloaded from the City of Richmond or County of Henrico. No changes to the data were made.
Description: These data represent the locations and footprints of new buildings currently under construction on the University of Richmond campus, as of Fall 2013. This data originated from the Facilities department master CAD files and was imported into the URCampusGIS data set.
