These data are displayed in the Valley Identification Tool, contains the following layers: US Census County Subdivisions in US EPA Regions 1, 2, 3, and 9. EPA overlaid topographic Valleys (from USGS 30m NED) with US Census County Subdivisions, population (EPA Dasymetric, 2010) and household wood fuel usage (American Community Survey snapshot) to find where people may be vulnerable to wood smoke pollution during winter thermal inversions. This hosted feature service was developed by the US EPA Region 1 GIS Center; and implemented in EPA Regions 2, 3 and 9 by regional GIS staff, US EPA Office of Mission Support (OMS).
