Description of the EPA Region 6 Enforcement and Compliance Actions for FY22 Map
This map shows individual data points highlighting enforcement compliance monitoring and enforcement activities throughout EPA Region 6 states. Users can view different layers to see how enforcement activities coincide with Environmental Justice concerns and flood hazards. Other layers can be enabled to view compliance monitoring and enforcement in different EPA programs: National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System; Clean Water Act 404 (Wetlands); Clean Water Act 311 (Oil and Hazardous Substances Discharges); Safe Drinking Water Act; Clean Air Act Risk Management Program; Clean Air Act Stationary Source; Resource Conservation and Recovery Act; Toxic Substances Control Act; Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act; and Emergency Planning and Community Right to Know Act. Click on the appropriate symbols to view additional information on specific sites.
Enforcement and compliance data points are from the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) Integrated Compliance Information System (ICIS) database for fiscal year 2022. The purpose of this database is to meet evolving Enforcement and Compliance business needs. USA Flood Hazard data is taken from the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s (FEMA) National Flood Hazard Layer (NFHL) which is used to support the National Flood Insurance Program. It contains information on the level of flood risk and types of flooding and is current as of October 2022.
Environmental Justice information is taken from EPA’s EJScreen data version 2.1, which uses Census data released in 2021 for a nationally consistent approach that combines environmental and demographic indicators in maps and reports.
