This feature service contains the currently known and available data set for all Minuteman II (MMII) facilities across Missouri. Land use presently is restricted at these sites to prevent disturbance of buried and capped contaminants. Land use controls were put in place by the deeds transferring each property from the federal government to private owners. The Missouri Department of Natural Resources (MDNR) works with the U.S. Air Force and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to ensure the continuing safety of these closed missile sites through inspections and owner education. This data was compiled from existing US Air Force, MDNR, and US EPA information and was verified through mapping of the recorded instruments found at multiple county offices across Missouri. This feature service is being published as part of continued efforts to educate land owners and the public.
