Description: R8 Sub-Area Zones are created from the HUC-4 Sub-region layer of the Watershed Boundary Dataset (WBD) of the National Hydrography Dataset (NHD). The layers have been clipped to the US Census Detailed Stated boundary layer to conform with the Region data set boundaries so they reflect tribal area agreements. Navajo Nation falls under Region 9. Ute Mountain Ute Tribe falls under Region 8 even though it is within New Mexico. Pine Ridge falls under Region 8 even though it is within Nebraska. The HUC-4 Sub-region boundaries change very little so there is no update cycle.
