Indicators include:
• Modeled air temperature
• Tree canopy cover
• Boulder's Racial Equity Index
• Additional social characteristics associated with heat vulnerability (e.g., age and social isolation)
Indicators were standardized and combined to produce a relative heat vulnerability score across census block groups. The index is intended to support heat resilience planning, cooling interventions, and targeted climate adaptation strategies.
