Description: An Emergency Service Boundary layer defines the geographic area for the primary providers of response services. This layer is used by the ECRF to perform a geographic query to determine which Emergency Service Providers are responsible for providing service to a location. In addition, Emergency Service Boundaries are used by PSAPs to identify the appropriate entities/first responders to dispatch. Each Emergency Service Boundary layer may contain one or more polygon boundaries that define the primary emergency services for that geographic area. There MUST be a separate Emergency Service Boundary layer for each type of service and MUST include a separate Emergency Service Boundary layer for Law, for Fire and for EMS.Emergency Service Boundaries must include:Law Enforcement FireEmergency Medical Services Other Emergency Service Boundaries may include, but are not limited to:Poison ControlForest ServiceCoast GuardAnimal ControlThe list above is not comprehensive. Other emergency service providers may have boundaries created for them, based on the unique needs of the 9-1-1 Authority. This data structure template should be used to define each emergency service. Emergency Service Boundary information is different from the other layers described in this document since the template below may be reused for each emergency service provider. The 9-1-1 Authority may maintain the Emergency Service Boundary layer as a combined or single layer for each emergency service. However, when exchanging emergency service boundary information in an NG9-1-1 environment, Emergency Service Boundaries MUST be exchanged as individual layers for each emergency service (e.g. one for law, one for fire, and one for EMS).Descriptive Name Field NameM/C/OTypeField WidthSource of DataSourceMA75Date UpdatedDateUpdateMD20Effective DateEffectiveOD20Expiration DateExpireOD20Emergency Service Boundary Unique IDES_UIDMA100StateStateMA2Agency IDAgency_IDMA100Service URIServiceURIMA254Service URNServiceURNMA50Service NumberServiceNumOA15Agency vCard URIAVcard_URIMA254Display NameDsplayNameMA60
