Description: Identification of areas of MTR based on satellite imagery and MTR criteria set by SkyTruth.SkyTruth Criteria: 1.) No areas smaller than 40 acres 2.) Areas within 50 meters of roads and rivers removed 3.) Areas within 400 meters of major rivers and highways removed 4.) Only includes areas that intersect mountain ridges.
The total accuracy of this project was 90%. This is a good accuracy for two different people working on two layers and coming together for the first time. Although the accuracy was good we were worried at how much each layer had grown in acreage and thought that we couldn't be very accurate. But the area was supposed to increase and human area could have increased it even more especially since none of us had done this analysis before.
This was group 3's project where we had four members. One of the members did not get together and help out as much as they should've and wasn't available by email for weeks at a time. The other 3 memebers had to get together and finish up the work so that it could be completed on time.
