Service Description: The Community Development Block Grant areas are based on a listing of qualified areas provided by the Department of Housing and Urban Development. The City of San Antonio utilizes Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Entitlement funds to provide various community development activities to assist low and moderate income residents and to address deteriorated conditions in the City's older neighborhoods.
The City of San Antonio offers financial assistance through the Sidewalk Rebate Program. This program allows homeowners to apply for financial assistance in the form of partial rebates to help reduce the expense of sidewalk and curb repairs, including replacements.
The eligible rebate that residents can receive range from 50-70% of the repair cost. The City will determine the total rebate estimate for which you are eligible according to whether or not your property is located in a federally-designated Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) geographic area.
