Description: The Infrastructure Management Program (IMP) is a five-year rolling program which focuses on the maintenance of San Antonio’s Infrastructure. Service needs are identified city wide and are scheduled for street maintenance, alley maintenance, drainage maintenance, sidewalks, traffic signals, pavement markings and Advanced Transportation District (ATD) related projects.
Street Maintenance Program
The goal of the Street Maintenance Program (SMP) is to provide a structured method for maintaining over 4,100 miles of streets. The SMP facilitates efficient and effective coordination and planning of required improvement projects using a combination of in-house and contract forces. Public Works manages the city"s streets using a two-pronged strategy: a Pavement Preservation Program (Crack Seals, Fog Seals, Slurry and Micro-Surfacing) for the streets in good condition and a Structural Rehabilitation Program (Mill & Overlay, Full Depth Reclamation or Reconstruction) for streets that have begun to deteriorate.
