Description: WELCOME The New Mexico Department of Transportation's (NMDOT's) Revegetation Zones and Seed Lists Map provides access for revegetation contractors to select regionally appropriate seed lists when restoring disturbed land within New Mexico. More site-specific lists may be available or specified on certain projects however these lists serve as the default for contractors estimating to bid for work on NMDOT construction projects. These lists are based on the Natural Resource Areas of New Mexico using native seed recommendations and rates provided by the National Resource Conservation Service. Additionally forbs have been added using recommendations provided by the Pollinator Partnership. These additions will encourage native wildflower and insect species diversity and assist New Mexico’s agricultural industry. Sterile and annual quick-cover grasses have been added to the seed list specifications to provide for the growth of quick vegetative cover following construction to protect our erodible soils. Indigenous varieties of native seeds which are commercially available have been specified where possible. NOTICE OF DISCLAIMER This map and accompanying seed lists are published by the New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT) for revegetation contractors bidding on NMDOT- funded projects and shall serve as part of project construction documents. While these seeds are appropriate for these locations, the NMDOT does not warranty the germination rate or the livability of the seeds specified on these lists. Users of these lists assume all risks and responsibilities for their use.
