Service Description: Waste management licence is a legal document issued under the Environmental Protection Act 1990. A licence authorises the treatment, keeping or disposal of waste in or on the land. Once we have issued a licence, neither the activities nor the area of land may be changed unless the licence is modified. The Environmental Permitting Regulations, regulating waste sites, came into force on 6 April 2008 and combines a number of earlier permitting / licensing regimes.
