Description: The oil extraction operations at Exxon Platforms Harmony, Hondo, and Heritage have been suspended due to the Plains All American LLC. pipeline rupture on 5/19/15. These three platforms used the pipeline to transport crude from an onshore gathering station to a refinery to the north.
Following the rupture, Exxon reduced production from these platforms from 30,000 barrels per day to 10,000 barrels per day. After onshore containers were filled to capacity Exxon proposed to use eight 6,720 gallon tanker trucks per hour to get oil to the Phillips 66 refinery 70 miles away in San Luis Obispo, totaling 192 trips per day. The proposal was filed as an emergency permit, but was denied by the Santa Barbara County officials.
