Description: The BLM is required to make parcels of land available for oil and gas leases quarterly each year, when requested by operators.
The four parcels in the Tres Rios Field Office are located in the San Juan National Forest. The Forest Service analyzed the San Juan National Forest Service parcels in a separate analysis and authorized the BLM to offer them in the May sale.
The parcels in Moffat and Routt counties are federal minerals under private surface.
Each lease, if issued, will contain stipulations and best management practices designed to address air quality and water resources and to ensure safe and environmentally responsible development. As part of leasing reform, the BLM may modify lease stipulations to accommodate site-specific resources.
