Description: This map layer shows the locations of wells reported to the South Coast Air Quality Management District (SCAQMD). The SCAQMD is the air pollution control agency for all of Orange County, and the urban portions of Los Angeles, Riverside, and San Bernardino counties. The SCAQMD's Rule 1148.2 (d) requires operators to electronically notify the SCAQMD no more than 10 days and no later than 24 hours prior to the start of drilling, well completion, or rework of an onshore oil or gas well. Well operators are required to provide general well information, notification type, description of well activities, and nearest sensitive receptor information. These event notifications are made available for review as required under Rule 1148.2 (d)(4).
