Description: Prior to the State Opening of the English Parliament on November 5th 1605, Guy Fawkes, an English Catholic, was discovered in the undercroft below the House of Lords with a significant quantity of gunpowder. The King, James 1st, and much of his government would have been caught in the explosion. Subsequently it was discovered that Fawkes was one of a group of conspirators who planned to use the assassination of the King as a trigger for a Catholic uprising.
The Conspirators, and where they lived, are described here.
