Service Description: MDOT MTA and local transit partners provide transit options for residents and visitors in urban and rural parts of the State
and MDOT continues to strategically invest in its transportation infrastructure as shown in the draft FY2021–FY2026 CTP.
MDOT MTA continues to improve transit service and access with investments in fleet modernization, including a light rail
fleet overhaul, as well as replacement of 63 MARC III passenger coaches. Continued construction of the 16.0 mile Purple
Line light rail project also remains a high priority for MDOT.
