Description: Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) mission is "To protect and improve the health and environment of all Kansans." The Division of Environment works directly with Kansas entities to ensure compliance with KS and EPA environmental regulations or laws. These regulations are in place to protect your health and the environment, for both current and future generations. KDHE “Regulated” sites do not pose an immediate environmental hazard, but may have the potential to do so. KDHE "Regulated" interests also include Inactive Interests, which may not have had activity in years. Many of the KDHE “Contaminated” interests have been restored to their original natural state. The Kansas Environmental Interest Finder web map (https://maps.kdhe.state.ks.us/keif/) is provided as a KDHE public service and is intended to provide general environmental open records information. The dataset utilized through the web map is provided through the KS Data Access and Support Center (DASC) for GIS Professionals to further utilize the data. This dataset includes the location, KDHE Program, Name, ID and Address about many KDHE Environment Programs. The use of names or addresses derived from public records for commercial purposes is expressly prohibited under Kansas law (K.S.A. 45-230). If a KDHE Environmental Program has a public web report, both the web map and the DASC dataset provide a link to the report to obtain detailed information about that environmental interest. If you have a concern about a KEIF environmental interest, please feel free to contact the originating KDHE program, as follows: Direct links to the Division of Environment www.kdheks.gov web site can be found at https://maps.kdhe.state.ks.us/_FlexHelp/KEIFProgramDescriptions.pdfIf you are still in need for more information, please visit the Kansas Open Records web page on details for KORA request. Please reference the “PROGRAM ID”, found in the KEIF attribute table, along with the Name and Address when making the open records request. http://www.kdheks.gov/open_records.html
