Description: This feature class contains centerline data for trails in the state of Pennsylvania, as prepared by the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, Rails-to-Trails Conservancy, PA Fish and Boat Commission, and the Keystone Trails Association. The majority of the data was collected using GPS units and checked for quality and accuracy against high-resolution aerial imagery. See Method. GPS data was collected between November 2007 and October 2009. Trail updates are submitted by users through explorepatrails.com and are evaluated and updated on a regular basis.
Description: The NRPA GIS Data Model was developed for jurisdictions to be able to inventory lands and assets that they own, plan, manage, operate and maintain. By providing standard attributes and values, the GIS Model makes it possible for better local, regional, and statewide management and planning of park and recreation resources. This data set represents publicly accessible Local Parks in Pennsylvania.
