The CONTOUR40 SDE layer is 40' contours for the State of Washington derived from the DEM10E, DEM10W, DEM10ORE, and DEM10IDA data. Due to some limitations, the state had to be divided into ten areas (using blocks as township to delineate them). Using GRID functions, 40' contours were generated for these ten areas. The ten separate contour layers were then loaded into SDE to create a statewide contour layer. Processing this way has created some edge matching issues. There are contour gaps in the 100' (+) range in the areas where the "building blocks" join together.
Combined incorporated City boundaries and unincorporated Urban Growth Areas (UGA) as defined by the Growth Management Act. Updates made in 2013 were a joint effort with WA Dept of Commerce, who acquired external UGA boundaries from Counties and edited those boundaries in Ecology's CityUGA dataset. Ecology then updated the internal boundaries using the WA Dept of Revenue's Sales Tax Jurisdiction City boundaries as reference.
