Description:

The OWRD Groundwater Sites allows you to explore subsurface data managed by the state. Groundwater sites are dominantly a cross-referenced subset of the well log database (approximately 5%). In addition to these well locations, these sites also includes some spring locations, outcrop sample locations, and stratigraphic section locations.

Location accuracy varies and can be assessed by the stage of the site (completed or data entry), public_viewable, horizontal error, and the various source fields.

Groundwater sites where there have been measurements provide a link to a hydrograph, displaying these measurements over time.

A link to the full information about the particular site is also included.

Groundwater sites are identified by the gw_logid. This is a concatination of the county code and well log number for the primary well log (the new log). It is padded to equal 11 characters. For example: BAKE 79 is BAKE0000079. Any subsequent logs for that particular well are linked in the history of the Groundwater Information System (GWIS). This provides a close resembelance to a "physical ID", or single identifer for a well. Understand however, this is a subset of all well logs (about 6%), so it is not the over arching ID for all wells.
