Description: These layers were configured based on the results of a fictional public drain cleaning initiative for the town of Hibbing, Minnesota. The map visualizes the crowdsourced cleaning efforts led by People For A Cleaner Hibbing, launched on Earth Day, April 22, 2021. Volunteers from around the town were asked to contribute by claiming a storm drain near their building and commit to regular clearing of debris. Several organizations also participated in this effort, including the local elementary school and small businesses. Volunteers tracked their impact through a survey form in which they logged their recent cleaning dates and characteristics of the debris.
