Service Description: This layer is a compilation of study areas, study watersheds, and political boundaries (including National Park Service lands) of interest to the USGS Chesapeake Bay Theme 1 & 2 activities. Study areas and areas of interest were identified and provided by various USGS scientists and collaborators in early 2020 to fulfill a data request of map locations of USGS Chesapeake Bay Science Theme 1 activities. Updates were made in July 2023 to include Theme 2 study areas.
Data and areas provided here are intended to highlight activity locations and areas of interest throughout the Chesapeake Bay Watershed and may not be appropriate for detailed analysis.
