Service Description: Climate and land change is rapidly altering ecosystems and there is a critical need to understand how these impacts directly and indirectly influence species, their habitats, and the resources they depend on to survive. USGS science plays an essential role in helping communities and resource managers understand the local to global implications of climate and land change, anticipate effects of and prepare for change, and reduce the risks associated with decision-making in a changing environment. These projects are just a sampling of the research the USGS has conducted on the topic.
