Description:

This layer has been made to replace PAR_Park_Land. It includes all council maintained land in Launceston. It include park names and who is responsible for maintenance. It also includes a class and category field. These are developed on a state-wide basis and are included in our regional and local open space strategies. It also includes dog area information. It is important to be aware of this when editing as the dog areas are legislated. The exact spatial extent is not so important it's the attributes against each polygon that must remain the same. They have not yet been approved at the time this layer was added to SDE (28/03/2014). It has editor tracking.The Strategic Planner is the responsible officer. Changes to dog areas are received via Environmental Services animal control section. This information is normally reviewed every 5 years. Road reserves and other areas that are not included are automatically assumed to be restricted on leash areas.
