Description: Objectives: The aim of the Fire Pits feature was to map fire pits around Lava Lake. The feature would be analyzied using a buffer from the lake boundary to see if they were within the permitted half mile distance from the lake. This would provide people interested in backpacking in this area with an idea about where they would be allowed to have fires and potentially influence where they camp. Unfortunately due to snow cover at the lake this feature could not be mapped and my map no longer provides information specific to overnight recreation. Description: Objectives: The aim of the Parking_Lot feature was to map all the obvious parking areas for the Lava Lake Trailhead. This included recording information about how many spots are available as well as if parking is actually allowed in that area. Some areas in this trailhead have space for a car but do not allow parking. People have and may feel inclined to park in these areas when the trailhead is crowded so this feature includes areas that my seem like parking but are not. It also includes one area of trailer parking. Description: Objectives: The aim of the Lake feature was to map the perimeter of Lava Lake. This would be used to create a buffer showing legal distances for campfires. Due to the lake being frozen over and covered in snow the actual perimeter was impossible to determine and so the mapped lake feature does not accurately represent the perimeter of the lake when it is thawed. This will not, however, cause issues with a buffering for campfires as it was also too snowy to collect campfire data. It does make this feature somewhat useless for representing the shape of the lake to potential recreationalists.Equipment:Emlid Reach RS2 Multi GNSS receiver1 Meter PoleBackpacking BackpackAndroid TabletArcGIS fieldmapsMapping Techniques: StreamingBase Station: N/AEditing: N/AEstimated Accuracy: RangePercentage0 - 5 cm0%5 – 15 cm0%15 - 30 cm0.03% (1)30 - 50 cm39.4% (13)0.5 - 1 m51.5% (17)1 - 2 m0.06% (2)2 - 5 m0%>5 m0%Feature / LayerMaximum PDOPMaximum PDOPHorizontalPrecisions(68% confidence)HorizontalPrecisions(68% confidence)mmAverageRangeAverageRangeLitterNANA0.50720.353811-0.853415Generic_PointNANA0.3936230.334125 – 0.483406TrailNANA0.6707620.438634 – 1.151043Generic_LineNANA0.5412950.0.541295Parking_LotNANA0.3938330.286007 – 0.502494LakeNANA0.4404540.440454Fire-PitNANANANACampsiteNANANANAGeneric_PolygonNANANANASpatial Reference: GCS: WGS 1984Datum: D WGS 1984Projection: WGS 1984 Web Mercator (auxiliary sphere)Fields: Notes
