Description:

This point feature class contains information about the geographic location and related attributes of the City of Houston’s owned and maintained hydrants.

The information in this layer is derived from the Plan and Profile Engineering Drawings that come from the following sources: Block Map, As-Built, Field Verified with Control Number, Taps and Meters, Metro, Field Verified Fire Department, Field Verified Fire Line, Construction Drawing (Layer), Fire Department, and Capital Improvement Project.

The GIS Services Group of Houston Water, Houston Public Works currently stores and maintains the dataset in a Relational Database Management System.

Geospatial or map data maintained by the Houston Public Works for informational purposes and may not have been prepared for or be suitable for legal, engineering, or surveying purposes. It does not represent an on-the-ground survey and only represents the approximate location of these assets.
