Hydrologic Watersheds: Hydrologic Unit Code (HUC) 8 watersheds within Los Angeles County.

303d Impaired Streams: Streams that do not meet established water quality standards and for which there are Total Maximum Daily Loads (TMDLs) set, based on Section 303(d) of the Clean Water Act. A TMDL establishes the maximum amount of a pollutant allowed in a waterbody and serves as the starting point or planning tool for restoring water quality.

Groundwater

Adjudicated Groundwater Areas: Areas where the underlying groundwater is adjudicated. Adjudicated areas are managed by a Watermaster in accordance with a court's groundwater rights decree.

Groundwater Basins: Groundwater basins and subbasins as defined by the California Department of Water Resources as last modified by the Basin Boundary Emergency Regulation adopted on October 21, 2015 and subsequent modifications requested through the Basin Boundary Modification Request Process. High and medium priority groundwater basins, as defined in the 2019 Basin Prioritization process, are required to comply with the Sustainable Groundwater Management Act (SGMA). Note this layer has been clipped to LA County and the surrounding basins.

Groundwater Sustainability Agencies: Groundwater Sustainability Agencies (GSAs) responsible for implementing the Sustainable Groundwater Management Act (SGMA). Note this layer has been clipped to LA County and the surrounding basins.

Spreading Grounds: Spreading grounds for groundwater recharge in Los Angeles County.[KT2] 

Community Characteristics

WaterTalk Communities:128 communities in Los Angeles and Ventura counties facing ongoing economic and environmental distress identified through a 2015 study by Council of Watershed Health. Data was obtained from TreePeople. 

Disadvantaged Communities Census Block Group Data: 2010 Census block group (BG) data joined with ACS (American Community Survey) Median Household Income (MHI) data. Disadvantaged community block groups are those with MHI less than 80% of the statewide average MHI.

Population Density 2010 (Census Place): Census places within LA County. The population data is for 2010 as 2020 data has not been released. Data was obtained from ESRI.

CalEnviroScreen 4.0 Results: CalEnviroScreen 3.0 Update (2020) overall results, calculated from the scores for two groups of indicators: Pollution Burden and Population Characteristics. More information on how the indicators are calculated is available on the California Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment (OEHHA) website: https://oehha.ca.gov/calenviroscreen.

Urban Heat Island Index: Urban Heat Island Index data for California, clipped to Los Angeles County. Information on how the index is calculated is available on the California Environmental Protection Agency (CalEPA) website: https://calepa.ca.gov/climate/urban-heat-island-index-for-california/.

Identified Needs

Lower LA River Revitalization Plan Opportunity Areas: Opportunity Areas as identified, described, and rated in the Lower LA River Revitalization Plan (LLARRP).

LA County Park Need: Park need from the Los Angeles County Department of Parks and Recreation Comprehensive Parks & Recreation Needs Assessment completed in May 2016.

GLAC IRWM Projects: Greater Los Angeles County (GLAC) Integrated Regional Water Management (IRWM) projects.

GLAC IRWM Subregions: Greater LA County (GLAC) Integrated Regional Water Management (IRWM) subregion boundaries.
