Description: This map contains six layers of data which represent oil and gas extraction related activty that is either suspected or confirmed to have resulted in groundwater contamination events. Layers include visitor submitted impacts; USDOT PHMSA pipeline incidents indicating groundwater contamination, the NRDC compiled list of incidents where hydraulic fracturing are suspected to have contaminated groundwater, Pennsylvania Alliance for Water and Air's 'List of the Harmed" suspected incidents resulting from water exposure, a New Mexico Oil Conservation Division list of oil and gas pits leading to groundwater contamination, and a list of complaints to the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection acquired and assembled by the Scranton Times-Standard.
