Description: The City Limits or boundaries are the jurisdictional extents of the city of Calgary. They are governed by provincial board orders, provincial reports prepared following the hearing and approval of a petition for annexation. The city limits are only changed as a result of a board order of the Municipal Government Board. Planning & Building Department directs the Land Workgroup of Asset Information and Mapping, as the data maintainer for city limits, to change the digital map files in accordance with the board order. The Land Workgroup may be asked to provide expert advice and interpretation on the precise location of the city limits.
